Community Partnership Opportunities

Here at Midcoast Humane, we believe that partnering with community members is crucial to our life-saving efforts, and to achieving our mission to make life better for animals and people in our community. Fostering growth in the local economy and giving businesses the visibility they need to prosper is beneficial to all of our community members and their pets.

Become a community partner by sponsoring an event such as the Save a Stray 5K & Festival, donating a portion of your proceeds to animals in need, collecting much-needed donations, or hosting a Millie’s Donation Can in your storefront.

For more information about how your organization can support Midcoast Humane, please call our Development Office at 207-449-1366, ext. 109 or email development@midcoasthumane.org.

Millie’s Donation Cans

In 1976, Board member Mildred Rogers began to distribute tin donation canisters to area businesses so that community members could conveniently make a gift – no matter how small –  to shelter animals. She launched what became known as our “Millie’s Can” program that now raises much needed dollars for animals in need.  Every dollar placed into a Millie’s Can helps to provide care for dogs, cats, and small animals in need. You’d be surprised what your dollar can do!
