Hi! I'm Annabelle!
Annabelle is brand new to the adoption floor so we are still getting to know her. She arrived at our shelter via a transport from a rescue in Georgia. She is a bit bashful, but ever so sweet once she gets to know you and is comfortable. We did not receive any behavior history for Annabelle, but the sending shelter did believe that she may be deaf. Our clinic staff believe she does have some level of hearing. Rather than being deaf, Annabelle is more likely internally motivated and slow to respond if the person calling out to her has not invested the time and cookies to gain her trust and build a connection with her. She is very easy to leash up and walk and has a quiet calm aura. We have no history of her with children so we would recommend Annabelle to an adult home or a home with children old enough (10+ recommended) to understand that they should not pull on, roughhouse with, or push Annabelle past her comfort zone. All members of the family would need to come in to meet her to ensure it is a good fit. She may be choosy about her dog friends, so any canine housemates must come in to meet her. We have no history of her with cats so if there is a cat in the home, the shelter can give you instructions on how best to do slow introductions to help ensure your cat’s safety while seeing how they do with one another.
We will update as we get Annabelle as we get to know her better but in the meantime, if you have any questions about her please call the shelter at 207-449-1366 ext. 206, email firstname.lastname@example.org, or stop by our Brunswick campus to meet her!
