Hi! I'm Bobby!
This marvelous older fellow arrived in Maine on a Bobby on one of our last rescue transports from Georgia! He is new to the adoption floor but this is what we can tell you about him. He recently went to a public event and he was friendly and appropriate with other dogs and people. He has been enjoying playgroups with other dogs at the shelter but any potential canine housemates would have to come in to meet Bobby to see how they felt about one another. Bobby may have resource guarding tendencies over food or treats, so a family should be mindful of that and be willing to work with him on it. He is very food driven so be aware that he may be a counter-surfer. Any children in the home would need to come in to meet him, be 10 and up, dog savvy and respectful of his belongings. He is easy to leash up and walk but continued leash training and basic obedience would be beneficial. He rides very well in the car, is quiet and enjoys looking out the windows at the scenery! We have no history of him with cats so if there is a cat in the home, the shelter can give you instructions on how best to do slow introductions to help ensure your cat’s safety while seeing how they do with one another.
We will update as we get as we get to know Bobby better but in the meantime, if you have any questions about him, please call the shelter at 207-449-1366 ext. 206, email email@example.com, or stop by our Brunswick campus to meet him!
