Pet Details

Rosie is a lovely girl who was originally transferred to Midcoast
Humane from Florida shelter in 2015.  She was adopted, then returned
to the shelter after three years.  Twice adopted and returned since,
she is now just longing for a quiet, adult only home with stability,
although a home with older dog-savvy children would be considered.

Rosie can be fearful of new people, especially men, so patience and
understanding will be needed. The shelter can give you tips on how
best to introduce her to new people in the home as she can take some
time to warm up to new people. Once she does you could not ask for a
sweeter, more loving girl!  She is very smart and eager to please. She
knows the commands sit, stay and lie down and would probably be happy to add a few more to her repertoire. She loves to run so if you are in need of a jogging partner, she may just be the girl for you!  In a previous home she was walked two miles a day and would have happily gone farther. She has excellent leash manners so walking her is a dream! She lived with two cats with no issues as well as another dog but, as always, a meet and greet with any potential canine siblings
would be required.

If this girl tugs at your heart, please give the shelter a call (207)
449-1366,  Ext. 302 with any questions and to make an appointment to
meet her.  You will be glad that you did!

This animal’s adoption fee is $0 because they need a very special home! They may have medical or behavioral needs that will require their new owners to invest in them, or they may have been waiting a really long time for just the right person! Ask a team member for details, or visit to learn more. We recommend a donation to help support all of our animals as no animal is ever really “free.”

I am a part of Midcoast Humane's No Paw Left Behind initiative. This means that I have been available for adoption for over 30 days. You may see me online or on the new No Paw Left Behind facebook page.
