Hi! I'm Chubs!

Chubs is a shelter favorite due to his wiggly happy greeting. What he really wants is for your hand to be glued to his body! His previous owners had to surrender him when they could no longer afford to care for a dog. He can be nervous in new situations - until he recognizes people and his environment. Then his sweet loving affectionate nature emerges. With patience and training, he will become socialized to people and dogs and adopt good manners.

Chubs' previous owner stated that he had lived with a female dog and sometimes played too rough for the female dogs liking. We would recommend a meet & greet with any potential canine brothers or sisters. Chubs is a very goofy, playful boy who is 80 pounds of pure love once he becomes comfortable with you. At first, Chubs can be reactive to strangers so we recommend that you ask to get to know him outside in a yard where he will act more like himself. Chubs would do best with a family who is willing to work with him on his impulse control commands and his basic obedience in overstimulating environments. We have no history on how Chubs is with children. We would recommend that if he is to go home with children, they be dog savvy enough to not push Chubs past his comfort zone. We do not have any history on how Chubs behaves around cats. Chubs absolutely loves playing with squeaky toys and will surely give you a run for your money if you ever play tug of war with him. Chubs scored as a "Go-Getter" on the Meet Your Match canine-ality assesment. He is a high-energy boy who is easily motivated. If this silly boy sounds like a potential new family member for you, make sure to come check him out!
