Hi! I'm Basil!

I'm a calm, shy senior girl looking for a quiet home with humans that will spend time brushing me, giving me treats, talking softly to me and giving me a nice window perch where I can watch the outside world. I can be a vocal girl at times and have a sassy side on occasion as well. If you are interested in me, please visit me at our Brunswick campus during our opening hours!

Basil is a very sweet kitty who has struggled with loose stools for most of her stay with us. We have done several blood panels and stool checks for imbalances, infections, and parasites. We suspect Basil has inflammatory bowel disease. She seems to be doing well on her current medications and prescription diet. It is possible that Basil will require less medication in a home where she is less stressed by shelter life. Basil will need to remain on her medication‘s long-term unless your veterinarian feels that she is doing well enough at some point to taper off. Basil will likely need to visit the vet more often than your average cat. A minimum of twice yearly visits should be expected, but she may need more frequent visits than that depending on how the transition into her new home goes. Her current medications and prescription diet will cost about $105 a month. This estimate is for her Budesonide, Cholrpheniramin, W/D dry food, and DM wet food.
